THE NIGHTS KNMA Theatre Festival : The Nights is an interesting performance on stage inspired by the ageless stories from One Thousand and One Nights, also known as Arabian Nights. There, it mostly puts a focus on the stories told by Scheherazade, a young woman, to her husband, Shahryar, the ruler, over a thousand and one nights. Generations of people have adapted these stories with moral lessons, historical fables, or simple exotic tales. The new perspective gives the long-relegated characters a share of the play as the play unfolds to another horizon of telling familiar stories, hence as it explores themes on power and vulnerability and complexity in storytelling in a spellbinding theatrical experience. Presented by the respected Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust, a puppet theatre company with over 25 years of experience behind it, this show integrates puppetry, masks, and shadows to bring an unprecedented visual experience. The show will blend creative choreography, live acting, and bright use of light and sound to breathe new life into these ancient tales.
